museo del tevere

The project began with the three dimensional
representation of a word.

My word was ghost.

The studio was held in Rome, so I found myself heavily
influenced by my environment. I therefore interpreted
ghost as a kind of ruin, and chose to create my ruin by
carving away from a mass. The concept model led me to approach the museum like an excavation site, in which the user feels like they are discovering the exhibits on display. I created a multidimensional series of occupiable walls that inhabit the entire site making the museum a play between structure and void. These walls begin to frame views, of the ruins across the river, that their structures are derived from.
