When challenged with making an infographic that would go viral, I approached my younger brother and he advised me to incorporate cats into my infographic, because “they are simply one of the most viral things online” – whether they are in the form of memes, articles, images or videos. I challenged myself to appeal to the broadest audience possible: simultaneously high and low brow – both intellectual and completely silly. I chose to make an infographic about cats and physics. The basis of the defenestration of cats is inspired by a Radiolab podcast (Falling) that I, personally, spread to all of my friends and family two years ago when it initially aired. This story begs for a graphic – when you listen to it – you can’t help but visualize cats falling out of skyscrapers.
